MSE delivers Labasys®-Velocity Meter System for LyondellBasell’s first commercial Hyperzone polyethylene (PE) plant

MSE Meili has been awarded the contract to deliver ‘Labasys® Control Ex ‘Bulk-Flow' measuring system for LyondellBasell’s first commercial Hyperzone polyethylene (PE) plant in La Porte, Texas.
The Hyperzone PE technology is the next evolution in Polyethylene Technology for the Plastics Industry and enables the production of a broad-spectrum of high density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic in one single plant whereas previous technologies require multiple plants. In addition, the technology is more economical to build and operate.
The ‘Labasys® Control Ex ‘Bulk-Flow' enables LyondellBasell to determine in-line the velocity of the particulate bulk solids material and delivers important in-situ information to control the processes at high efficiency.
The La Porte Complex is one of LyondellBasell's largest manufacturing facilities spanning approximately 550 acres. Once the Hyperzone PE plant is complete, the La Porte Complex will more than double its annual PE capacity to 2 billion pounds (900,000 metric tons).
The startup is planned for 2019.
