First 'Labasys 100 HOT' System commissioned at Tsinghua University

25. Aug 2014

The newly developed 'Labasys 100 HOT' system - designed for operation at temperatures up to 1'000 °C - was commissioned sucessuflly at the renowned Tsinghua University in Beijing in early August.

The system for laser backscattering measurements is capable to determine solids concentrations and velocities in dense gas/solid flows as eg. required for the further development of clean coal combustion in circulating fluidised beds CFB's. It features a water cooled cooling jacket with an Inconcel insulation tube, a sapphire front window and a suppression system for the thermal background radiation.

After the commissioning Dr. Meili gave on August 20th a lecture on 'Advancement of Labasys measuring system for industrial applications’. He was kindly inroduced by Mr. Yanguo Fu, General Manager of SimPop Information Technology, and Prof. Dr. Prof. Hairui Yang, 'Department of Thermal Engineering' from Tsinghua University. rtm
